Children's Table strives to inspire and enable young people to make healthy food choices through the hands-on joy of food preparation. The focus of Children's Table spans all the way from soil to supper.
Children’s Table is a “hands-on” cooking class that empowers children to experience food, one recipe at a time. Each class has a different theme with a focus on different cuisine, produce and ingredients.
Our goals are to:
Teach the value of good nutrition and food safety as a lifelong skill.
Encourage cooking as a manageable, rewarding and creative endeavor.
Nurture overall self-confidence and self-worth.
Be available to all children from across the socioeconomic spectrum.

2016 SUMMER GARDEN CAMP
Our first Summer Garden Camp was a hit! We had a blast introducing our students to sweet and savory recipes using fresh herbs and produce right out of our very own Children's Table Garden. We welcomed Alcosan to help us learn about ways to keep our water clean and reuse rain water to help feed our garden! Not only did we make a ton of new recipes, but we also had fun making art projects to decorate our garden space, made indoor herb gardens to take home, and also made vegetable seed bombs to plant our very own gardens at home.
WANTED: VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTORS
Would you love the opportunity to inspire and enable young people to make healthy food choices through the hands-on joy of food preparation? Children’s Table is looking for volunteer instructors to support our lead instructors during our children’s cooking classes.
As a non-profit organization, it is our goal to be available to all children from across the socioeconomic spectrum. In order to do so, we need volunteers like you to help us expand our outreach!
If this sounds like an opportunity you would like to take advantage, contact Heidi Gardner, Program Coordinator, for more information at 412-926-9688 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
